The practice was founded and is led by Alex Ashworth, an architectural historian, designer and researcher, whose passionate interest in historic buildings and fine and applied art took root as a boy and was later formalised by extensive training.
Polymaths may be unfashionable, but the ability to understand a house, its history, landscape and collections in the round, together with a design eye, can bring deeper insights and identify fresh opportunities.
